Honor Within

Burke is one breath from breaking. At war with his inner Mountaincat that stole his birthright in the Wolf Clan, he is a lone alpha, banished and distrusted. When he finds Nomi, a wandering soul uneasy in her Guild, he knows he should stay away. But he can't. At the same time he recognizes she can never be his, for to claim her would require acknowledging the cat he despises inside himself. The balancing act of befriending Nomi and holding his cat at bay is shredding his already perilous control. Then Nomi decides to seduce him... and the balance is lost.

Nina-- I've always done that. It's the lazy woman's guide to finding pictures. I thought this trailer was particularly uninspired, and since I don't post them anywhere but on myspace and my excerpt pages, I think it will be my last. When I extended myself for Within Reach's trailer, it was so much better. And I used a proper miniblurb for that one. I was so proud of it I tried to post it to youtube, but then discovered the stupid-proof slideroll website doesn't do youtube, so basically, it's just a fun thing for me to do. And the novelty is wearing off, lol.

"I like dominant characters. I really like dominant women who know what they want and aren’t afraid to take it. In Mima’s Honor Within, Nomi understands the waters. She also knows the pain of being an outcast. Her differences make her easy to relate to. Who hasn’t been shut out of a group or clique because they are different? Yes, it gets her down, but she doesn’t allow it to control her life. She channels her attentions to the Beast Burke. He’s an outcast too, but he’s also hiding a great man underneath. When they gave to each other, they had the other person’s interests at heart – not their own. That said a lot for them as people.

Mima’s writing is peppered with rich details that made the reader feel like he or she is truly there with the characters, experiencing what they go through. Some parts of the story were a bit slow, but that didn’t take away from the overall tale. You rooted for Nomi to get what she truly wanted: Burke and his love in return.
If you want a fantastic story with sexually charged scenes and animated characters, then Honor Within is the novella for you. I give this story 4 ½ cherries."

"Mima continues her saga of the Trux warriors with Honor Within. The imperfect world, and hardships, that Burke and Nomi live in pull the reader into the tale. The fight for their love and mutual desires are heartwarming and heart wrenching at the same time. Mima continues to enthrall readers with her wonderfully rounded characters and vivid descriptions. The sensuality and open sexuality are artfully done, and breathtakingly erotic. The adult content makes this a definite 18 and up series, but I enjoy it immensely! I can’t wait for the next installment. The ending of Honor Within left so much open in the possibilities of stories to come!"
