A reading for Jerrod & Vesper

Jerrod & Vesper are the h/h in my current writing in progress, "The Mooncusser." It is the second book in my Shadow Lover Tales series. The book is already 40,000+ words and isn't 3/4 of the way finished. Jerrod is giving me some problems and Vesper is driving me nuts to get to the magic words "The End." She's been waiting for the conclusion to her story for a long time. Jerrod, on the other hand, is post-head injury and I think I'm the one suffering from memory loss--not him!

Freyja as the goddess of war: Freyja was a naughty girl. She gave up being consort to the chief god (Odin) and prostituted herself of a pretty piece of jewelry. With dark elves. Dudes who live underground and make magic items. She became "wife" to a whole group of brothers. Underground. Ewwwww. For being such a harlot, Odin condemned her to be not only the goddess of love and sex, but the goddess of war. Divorce. Yeah--the Goddess of Divorce.

This card is the "don't sell yourself short" lesson. The grass ain't greener on the other side and if you want a pretty bobble, get your old man to buy it for you. Don't run off with a group of dirty little men for a necklace.

A warrior: This dude is too-well armed. He's carried every weapon he has into battle and his back is to the sea. Ah, hello...the war's over and you no longer need to fight, and you've backed yourself into a damned corner, any way. Oh, his eyes are closed, too. Open your eyes!

Snow-blind. This card depicts a poor couple trudging through the blizzard of their lives. If they'd just open their eyes and look around a little bit, they'd see gold all around them.

I must not be seeing what I need to see with this novel. I shouldn't be selling myself short, I need to allow the characters to do what they bloody well want to do and quit fighting them. Then I'll see the gold.

Well, this was helpful. Anyone else having issues? Anyone NOT having issues?

My goodness. You are feeling a bit insecure and uncentered, aren't you?

Your journey is frightening you a tad bit. You said you'd do this thing, but when you crossed into unchartered waters you anxiety level kicked up a notch. Here's the secret: if you want to see the moon over the capital, you can't stop halfway along your path. Just because you feel like you're riding through the Underworld doesn't mean it's a bad thing! Explore!

Are you having issues with hellatives of the religious persuation? Are they blessing you out for writing smut? Jesus loves romance writers, too. Tell them you write marital aid manuals. In the alternative, Baldur's card could represent a great lightening of spirit for you when you embrace your journey.

Your cup is about to runneth over, darlin'. Wealth of a spirital and physical nature will soon fill you up. Could be payday; could be a royalty check. Could be finding 20.00 in the gutter. At any rate, your life is very full and rich and it's time to share it with others! So, quit worrying and start writing!

And Life is turning ... finally ... for a while it was touch and go, maybe that's what's making me nervous ... not used to happiness. Sad but true.
