Looking for Mr. Clean (and Single)?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20590897...eek/?GT1=10357
Read this article and then post your comment--have you found that a live-in lover is "neater" than a spouse? Are "cleaner" couples happier in the bedroom? Shared housework = Better (more active) sex life (Yes or no?) Do you agree with the researchers' findings? If so, give us the juicy details. If not, why not? (Juicy details are good here, too.) ![]() I reserve my comments until I see some others' thoughts on this "highly controversial" issue.

Re: Looking for Mr. Clean (and Single)?
Bam had Lilith Saintcrow as a guest author on her blog not too long ago, and she posted an ode to men who cleaned. Everyone agreed that men who cleaned were sexier, so yes, I guess shared housework means better sex lives.

Re: Looking for Mr. Clean (and Single)?
All that "rub-a-dub-dub" equals a fun scrub in the shower together later perhaps?
![]() Is it the cleaning itself or is it the fact that the communication channels are more "open" when partners share the work load--one partner doesn't feel completely overwhelmed or unappreciated by being put "in charge" of the housekeeping?

I'd say both. They go hand in hand.

Oh... I actually GET it now!! (Man-oover = Man-Hoover) You gotta quite droppin' those "h" sounds!!
![]() So, our kilted gent says even a guy can use a vacuum cleaner... Will this make him "less manly" or "more sexy" gals?

Re: Looking for Mr. Clean (and Single)?
Hubby actually does pretty good about cleaning, though I do have to drop the occasional hint. We dated for 5 years, 3 of which we lived together - and he was much neater then. I do think it's important to share the chores in the house, though I admit that if I don't like what he's done, I'll do it myself the next time, lol

Re: Looking for Mr. Clean (and Single)?
My hubby is neater than i am, and does dishes and his own laundry (cause i wreck something every load). other than that, the housework is my domain. he doesn't complain about my standards, which are wayyyyyy lower than my moms. so he's ok in my book, in chores and in bed.

Re: Looking for Mr. Clean (and Single)?
Okay, I'm seeing a pattern here... Are we saying that the "neater" of the two in a relationship dictates who does what and how when it comes to housework?
And, on the side of the making the bed, does the partner with the higher libido dictate what and how in the bedroom?

Re: Looking for Mr. Clean (and Single)?
Well, I've been married to a slob for 35 years-- but the sex has never suffered. Would I like him to be neater and take more of a hand in the housework? Sure, but since he does .. not .. care-- he does not clean the way I do and I would have to redo it all. So, I stopped asking -- a long time ago. Of course, I chalk that up to his basic passive-aggressive nature of avoidance.
He more than makes up for it in other sterling qualities -- and in bed. Probably TMI?Rachel

Re: Looking for Mr. Clean (and Single)?
Sorry I didn't see a response here earlier. Interesting... we're willing to forgive a sloppy guy if he's great in the sack.
![]() But has anyone ever kicked out a male who was sloppy even if he was a good lover? I'm just curious. Or vice versa--stayed with a guy who was a good housekeeper even if the sex was so-so??
