My exciting ride in an ambulance...

Read about how I spent my day at my "Confessions of a Blonde Writer" blog.

http://momsday.blogspot.com

There might be a story in this, but I don't quite know the ending yet.

Re: My exciting ride in an ambulance...

Celine, magnesium. I suggest taking a high quality magnesium supplement. There is one used by hospitals for heart problems. I forget the whether it's orotate or not. But taking it can stop a heart attack, and so can taking Cayenne capsules. I know from my mom's own experience.

Re: My exciting ride in an ambulance...

Stress?
Acid reflux?
I went through a similar experience about seven years ago and the findings for the chest pain were inconclusive.
Did you have an incubus sitting on your chest trying to get your attention?

I recently got to ride in the front of an ambulance (when we transported my step-mother) and the driver played with the switches and told me what everything was for (because I asked...I'm a writer!)

Celine...your blog didn't say what the doctor said or whether or not you got the job! More!

Celine--

Hugs, sweetie. Stress can do all that, but so could a heart issue -- please do follow-up with the doctor and let us know. Good luck on the job. Wish I lived closer so I could help.

Okay, now that some time has passed -- tell all about the cute male paramedics -- forget the female one -- were these guys cute, buff, doable? Mike, AJ and RJ -- hide your eyes. We gals need to know this info.

I loooove hunky firemen/EMT/paramedics (since I see a lot of them when they come to stick an IV in my diabetic hubby -- 911 is my friend).

Re: My exciting ride in an ambulance...

LOL!! Okay, I'll tell y'all about the cute paramedics in a minute! (From what I can recall--it's a bit blurry in my mind.)

Cayenne Pepper capsules? Okay, I've got to try this--if even just on my food for flavor.

I think an incubus DID sit on my chest, but only for a few moments to scare me into being a good girl and getting my blood pressure/racing heart beat looked into. Unfortunately, I'm walking around with a lot of genes that can manifest themselves over night, and I've been warned of some of the symptoms by my relatives, so I guess I might not have lucked out and avoided these sorts of complications. Sigh!

Well, let's see... The nice looking paramedic who gave me the nasty bruise on the right arm from the IV had hazel green eyes, fair with dark hair and sort of a smattering of freckles. Very clean cut--looked buff unter the Affton Fire Department jacket.

Gee whiz I'm drawing a blank on the other dudes! They had to put me in this chair thingy since the steps are narrow and go around and around in this building. so they were behind me I guess moving this chair down... Hmm, I remember the police officer that got their first from the Lakeshire police station. Older gent, though. Unless you're into slight paunch and gray handlebar moustaches.

I go to the doctor on Monday where I expect them to lecture me on losing weight, eating better and throwing various pills at me, none of which holds particular appeal to me.

Re: My exciting ride in an ambulance...

I think we should make it a rule that if any LSBer has to call 911 and cute, buff firemen/paramedics/EMTs show up we have to make a report. Only fair to share so that we might all live vicariously.

Now, what brought this urge to know what Celine's paramedics looked like is I was visiting Lori Foster's web site to order something from her Cafe Press for the convention she is having in less than a month -- and she had a link on her Fun page to the South Florida Firemen calendar. WOo-HOO, ladies! There are some very, very buff and HAWT! firemen -- and they have several years' worth of calendars to choose from. And they give vitals like height, weight, age, coloring and in some years, likes and dislikes and their signs. I wasted, um, spent almost an hour last night drooling, um, scrolling through the site.

If you have time to waste and want to spend a pleasurable hour or so -- go to Lori's site, click on Fun stuff, then Goodies and scroll down the page to the link to the calendars -- or, for a more direct visit, click here:

http://www.firefighterscalendar.com/

Enjoy. Celine, watch it, this site could cause heart palpitations.

Re: My exciting ride in an ambulance...

Just an update on my trip to the doctor's this morning. I'm not heading back in the emergency room, but people seem to have this unusual need to keep siphoning blood out of my arm with a needle (Ow!). It seems I passed all my preliminary blood tests with flying colors, but I still have a rapid heart beat episode on the record, and my blood pressure isn't so great... So, it's more blood tests in the works (hence the latest donation) and I get to have a picture of my heart taken. (No snide comments on whether or not I actually have a heart in there, please.)

This Friday afternoon I get to go back into the hospital and have an echocardiogram done. I'm told it's like a sonogram of your heart, but if it isn't, please let me know. I'm tired of the electrode leads stuck on me and the needle pricks. I'm still scrubbing off the nasty adhesive from those lead patches!

Prayers and healing thoughts appreciated.

I was on a funky medicine for awhile and had to have several of these done. They're cool. Sonogram. Yep. The gel.. the wand ... but none of the fun. (So don't even go there people!) LOL! Pictures were cool though.

Re: My exciting ride in an ambulance...

Celine, did you ever see that Oprah show several years ago now. She thought she was having heart episodes and it turned out to be hormones, menopause stuff. I know I've experienced it. Usually if you take magnesium and potassium that will calm down your heart beat. I've known lots of women where that remedy has worked.
