Meet "the Man" -- Luc Saint-Cyr
Imperial Entertainment Ezine calls Luc Saint-Cyr "the mover and shaker" of the Tarthian Empire of the 44th century.
Idle Time Ezine says, "Luc Saint-Cyr has more clout than anyone in the entertainment business. His ability to recognize and exploit top talent makes him number one in the industry. Watch out, Pharos Enterprises. You are no longer seen as serious competition. Lucsondis owns the road." Dimension News (Channel 1441 on Tradestandard Net) awarded Luc Saint-Cyr the Business Acumen Leader Award for the year 4666 tradestandard and hailed him as the "entertainment industry's guru for new talent. Lucsondis churns out stars faster than light speed."

Re: Meet "the Man" -- Luc Saint-Cyr
From At the Mercy of Her Pleasure
Senth stepped forward and bowed. Like most people, he avoided looking directly into Luc Saint-Cyr's eyes. The man wore contact lenses that turned his entire eye black. Raven's eyes, peering, intent. Predatory. From For Women Only The shiny wetness of the man's totally black eyes flashed like some giant raven studying its prey. On his homeworld, Kelthia, Saint-Cyr wasn't suspected of prostitution or homicide, but those were the only major offenses he'd passed up. The Kelthian crime lords called him the Harbinger, if they dared to mention him. No one else spoke of him at all. From Wulf, Tales of the Chosen The first truly relaxed smile he'd seen on the man transformed his face. Always attractive, when he smiled, the man oozed masculine charm. Powerful, rich, charismatic; Saint-Cyr had it all. From Alitus, Tales of the Chosen The Empress sipped her whiskey. The thought of seeing Alitus being taken by her dear friend Luc brought a flush of heat. She’d loved Luc from the first moment she’d seen him. He’d been her brother’s toy for some time before Pietas offered him to her. She’d argued with Pietas over some trivial thing back when they still lived on their homeworld, a thousand years before they’d been exiled. He hadn’t spoken to her in weeks--or was it months? At any rate, he’d finally deigned to speak to her and had sent Luc to her bed as a peace offering. She'd never wanted to let him go... From Jawk, Tales of the Chosen The Harbinger. The Man. Crime lord extraordinaire, whom no law enforcement in the empire could pin down. And also a legitimate businessman. Hell, the simple power of his name alone was a business. The number one mover and shaker, a tycoon and entrepreneur unlike anything the Tarthian Empire had ever seen or likely would again. And unknown to all but a tiny handful of people called the Chosen, he was immortal. A Sempervian. He'd amassed generations of wealth and power he could use to his advantage. Taking Saint-Cyr down would be the story of the year, defeating him the coup of a lifetime.

Apparently Michael, the Honcho, has a "snit" button and I have pushed it. I rather enjoy doing that. However, we shall do our button pushing within this forum. I wonder if he wanders into them? I suppose we'll see.

Interview
Luc, thank you for agreeing to an interview. Anyone may post a question. I'll start.
You've been Wulf's lover for five years, and he is also your Chosen, as was his father. Since the readers here are privy to the fact that you are a Sempervian (an immortal), could you please tell us more about what a Chosen is?

Re: Meet "the Man" -- Luc Saint-Cyr
I find it both amusing and disturbing that others know about my true identity when I have spent centuries hiding it. Being forthcoming is not in my nature. However, I shall give it a try.
I suppose an acrostic would be the best way to show what a Chosen is. This one is based on the vow a Chosen swears. Called to serve Honored to protect Obedient to the vow Safeguards of the truth Enablers of life Neutralizers of threats Because we do live forever, we often need assistance to move from one identity to another. The Chosen enable us to do that. If in this lifetime, I were to "die" and have to relocate, a Chosen in another area would aid me in the transfer. That is not to say that we transfer into another body. We retain our own forms. The Chosen serve more as welcomers to our new community. They help us establish our new identity, even to building up false records of our birth, lifetime, etc. A new "cover" as it were. |

Re: Meet "the Man" -- Luc Saint-Cyr
Hi Luc. I read about your version of immortality with concern. What happens to the relationships you've built in the previous you? If you're still you, just relocated, and undercover, don't you yearn to return to the people left behind at your prior identity?

Quote:
And yet, being isolated, unable to share who and what you are with another living soul is often even more painful. Mankind was not designed to live alone. We are social creatures, and even though we Sempervians live thousands upon thousands of years, we are still human-kind. We desire relationships, family, and love. I, personally, could not bear to be alone for long. Since another aspect of the Sempervian physicality is a sex drive that on a scale of 1-10 is about 30, our nature drives us to embrace relationships. Sometimes, those relationships are not altogether wise. My friend, Empress Rheyn Destoiya (also a Sempervian) keeps a stable of male pleasure slaves in order to maintain her sanity. My lover and Chosen, Wulf Gabriel, has pretended not to notice my unfaithfulness; it is never discussed. A human can satisfy a Sempervian up to a point, but even one as "talented" as Khyff Antonello (who sated Rheyn repeatedly) cannot keep up on a daily basis. We require as little as an hour or two of sleep, often less. Humans must have more. It was my good fortune to spend several lifetimes in the Tarthian Empire and watch the families of my Chosen growing up. As Cyr de Typhin, I built bridges, dams and roads on the planets Tarth and Kelthia. Wulf's great great grandfather was one of my assistants as well as my Chosen. Then as Ran Holding, Wulf's great grandfather and I took on the task of breeding a hardy type of cattle on the planet Mjuka. I encouraged him to run for political office and stand up for the rights of farmers. It's not uncommon for the Chosen to be in positions of power -- the better to aid us as a whole. Wulf's grandfather was the Chosen of Neene Saint-Thomas, which was me again. His father, Thomas Gabriel, was named for me. Because of my Chosen, I was able to hide what and who I was, yet still remain connected to them. However, this time, I have been extremely visible as Luc Saint-Cyr. When my lifetime here ends, for whatever reason, I will be forced to leave the empire and the Chosen I have known for six generations. That, my friend, will be a black day for me. |

Re: Meet "the Man" -- Luc Saint-Cyr
So Luc,
That brings up the question of... What don't you choose another Sempervian as your mate? Why go through the heartbreak generation after generation? Now, mind you, I'm not pointing you toward Destoiya, because we *all* know what a biatch she can be, but surely there are other Sempervian's in the Universe yes? One that would be more in line with your obvious tastes, shall we say? I mean, why torture yourself time and time again when you could choose someone that will live just as long as you do to keep you company... The ever curious, Lady Blade |

I've known all of them for centuries. They are more than friends -- family, I suppose. I am too familiar. Yes, I've been in love with Rheyn since I was practically a child, and over the past ten thousand plus years have never gotten over her. She is the only Sempervian that I don't feel "related" to. The others are like brothers or sisters. There could never be anything between us beyond the immediate thrill of sexual gratification. Do I sound jaded? I suppose I am. I would rather have new thrills with human partners than grow tired of an immortal partner. If, however, there was an immortal who was new to me, perhaps I'd be willing to take a chance. |
