What a fantastic, emotional, gripping book. Mima has outdone herself with A Bonded Fantasy: Alpha Within. She has been able to write three separate books of exceptional quality that have kept this reader glued to her seat. Luna is the kind of woman who is a joy to read about. Dar is a strong hero, but he is also compassionate and humble. I love a hero like that. Mima has a talent for creating a world full of colorful characters that is a pleasure to read about. I have loved all three of her A Bonded Fantasy series and would strongly encourage everyone to read them. I hope she keeps this series going; I could read a book about each clan she has created.

The Alpha Within is the second book in the Bonded series. It captured my attention from the first page, setting my heart racing and pulse pounding. Ms. Mima has written a volcanic blend of discovery, love and acceptance that is not for the shy or faint of heart. The harsh world of the Truxet continues to evolve in this story. Characters from Wild Within return offering the reader the chance to catch up with their lives. Jana is a woman that is fully in charge of her own life and sexuality. I love the fact that while she is not willing to lose herself completely to Dar's demands but she is willing to compromise. Dar is true to his alpha nature, demanding, driven, sensual yet very deeply emotional and caring. I instantly fell in love with him. The sex between the two is very raw, intense and HOT! I can't wait to dive into Ms. Mima's next offering. Like the first book in the series, this one lacks in-depth physical descriptions of the characters, but because of all the action, drama, and emotions woven into each scene, it isn't as noticeable. Despite this very minor fault, this novel is definitely headed for my keeper file.

How important is the struggle for survival? Is cheating allowed? For Jana, cheating is her life's work. For Dar it is imperative for the survival of his clan.


Mima did a fine job. I enjoyed discovering the answers to my questions and watching the relationship develop between Dar and Jana. If it were possible i would cheat fate as well. Life is far from perfect for many of us so cheating under these circumstances are allowed in my book. Jana's development as a woman is very intriguing to watch.
